I used to say I was a housewife, and then I thought ,no I'm not married to a HOUSE, I'm married to a FARMER! So I,m a farmer's wife.Which means all sorts of things including being up to my armpit in a cow or a sheep on accasions. Also feeding the family. 3 kids, one left home now.I do a great deal of cooking, very cheap bargain hunting too.I can supplement our income by milking a goat(well I used to) or butchering a roe deer, knitting clothes, spinning wool. So I didn't like it when Brs & Sis. used to ask me why I didn't get a job.HA! Beats working for a living.

Fabulous day, off to the beach!
by meat pie init is a gorgeous morning here in n.e.scotland so we are going to get the kids & dog into the car and go to the beach for a couple of hours.
it's about a half-hour drive to a choice of unspoilt beaches, next stop norway.i think we are very lucky/blessed/ fortunate (delete as appropriate) sometimes we see dolphins and once a seal.
it is a good place to think about spiritual things.wish you were here.

Free fallin, no I have never been to the Shetlands but I would like to. We had a lovely time at the beach, it was very sunny and the sea was dark blue. The scenery is lovely round here, some times we go inland towards the Grampian hills. The sea is very cold here as it is the North Sea, so no swimming for me!

Chucking out Stepford wife clothes...
by meat pie ini spent an hour or two going through my 'meeting clothes'.
they were second-hand when i got them, so no use to anyone else, and anyway, who else dresses like that?did you chuck out/pass on your jw uniform when you stopped going?
it's silly really , just about everyone hates to wear those clothes and would change out of them at the earliest opportunity.as i am not exactly tiny in frilly dresses i looked like a badly mis-arranged bunch of flowers!

Will silentlambs Be DF???
by silentlambs inwell now we have it, what appears to be the pre-emptive strike from wt.. as of this friday three families who appeared on the dateline program have been informed judicial committees have been setup with a one week notice and it is alleged that they have been causing "divisions" within the organization.
i got my letter today, barbara anderson got hers yesterday and the other family earlier this week.. if you were a pr firm would you think it to be a good idea or a bad idea to df everyone a couple of weeks before the dateline program airs?
what do you think the american public will think of such a move?.

Divisions- YES! between those with information and integrity and those without one or both.

I replied to the other post about David Algar, the gist of it was that the person I asked thought he had gone from N.E.Scotland to 'somewhere like Malta'. I could ask around some more but it would arouse suspicion, I will do so however if there is no more reliable information.

Hanratty
by Duncan inuks channel 4 ran a very interesting documentary last night: hanratty - the whole truth for those of you who have never heard of james hanratty, heres a brief recap:.
in august 1961 there was an extremely notorious murder committed near the town of bedford in the uk.
in what came to be called the a6 murder, after the highway it took place on, an assailant attacked a man and his girlfriend in their car.

Yes I saw that too. I didn't want to believe that Hanratty was guilty either. His surviving family must feel dreadful beyond words.I also see the connection you are making. Don't we all believe what we want to believe unless or until we have to face the truth,(if that differs)

Smurfs & Cabbage Patch belivers
by JAVA ini'm reading a riveting memoir of a woman's immersion into fundamentalist faith, and her decision twenty years later to leave it behind.
it's called, this dark world, a memoir of salvation found and lost, by carolyn s. briggs (published by bloomsbury, ny, 2002).
i thought some might enjoy reading the following on pages 190, and 191:.

Will I get a shepherding call now, or just DF'd?
by meat pie ini saw a 'sister' today who had never had the opportunity to ask me why i stopped going to the meetings.
she had heard some gossip, but wanted to hear it from the horses mouth, if i didn't mind.
course i didn't mind, some of it related to someone bad-mouthing her family, but i told her that was just the straw that broke the camel's back.i said i had been wishing i wasn't at the meetings for about a year beforehand, and there were lots of reasons, hypocrisy for one.during the run-up to the last memorial some one here had pointed out john6:50-60. fortunately, i still carry a small nwt in my bag, so i showed her that bit, especially verse 54, regarding partaking and resurrection.tms trained, i asked her what that implied and she said that she thought i was getting at everyone partaking.

I said if you were reading that without having the Bible in one hand and the Watchtower in the other hand then that is just what it says.Of course I didn't expect her to agree with me. The upshot was that I said the org got a lot of things wrong IMO but I was not about to tell people they shouldn't be going to the KH, that was for them to decide. My husband(Not JW)had already been speaking to her on the subject and he was a good bit freer of speech, said I thought there would be a schism and that she would be AMAZED how much 'stuff' there was to find out on the internet! Her husband is a MS,Tuesday group tonight, wonder what will happen next?

David Algar used to be in this circuit, N.E.Scotland, but I can't remember in what capacity, though I do remember he seeming like a pleasant man.Anyway I saw a 'sister' today, and I asked her if she knew where he was now, she wanted to know why, I said I'd heard a rumour that something had happened to him, but it could be wrong. She said she thought he'd gone to Malta 'or somewhere like that.'
